Negombo, Sri Lanka
Located in the coastal city of Negombo, this office interior was designed for an international trading company seeking to create a distinct and memorable spatial experience for visiting clients. The existing interior, typical of many small commercial offices, lacked identity and spatial efficiency. The design brief called for a transformation that would not only make a visual impact but also enhance comfort and spatial fluidity within a compact footprint.
Two existing cubicles were retained and reinterpreted within a new layout strategy that prioritizes openness and flow. A key feature is the sculpted ceiling, conceived as a fluid surface that breaks the rigidity of conventional office geometry and visually expands the space. Warm lighting, indoor planting, and custom millwork contribute to a cozy, welcoming atmosphere, while the central planter unit acts as both a soft divider and a biophilic element. The result is a compact workspace that balances efficiency, comfort, and identity.
