Renovation Masterplan for the Islamic Center

Location: United States

At Santiago, USA

The renovation master plan for the Islamic Center of Santiago, USA is another religious project proposal done by our team. The client, the head preacher of the Islamic center himself, first contacted us to renovate the existing building with the vibe of Turkish/ Ottoman architecture. The second phase of the project was to design an additional wing that provided an indoor swimming pool and a gym to the large teenage Muslim community in the region

As per the client’s request, the design concept was formed around providing necessary privacy to the boys and especially girls with separate indoor swimming pools and saunas. A gym was designed on the first floor with a large terrace at the highest level. A Minaret (tall tower), a symbol of traditional Islamic architecture, was designed at the focal point of the building with the symbols of Shahada (Declaration of Faith), Salah (Prayer), Zakat (Almsgiving) and Sawm (Fasting during Ramadan) being displayed from four sides. As with our previous religious buildings, we did extensive background research on the traditional Islamic architecture before commencing the design process and the result turned out to be more than satisfactory for the client.
